JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) – Fans are angry.
And that includes Melissa Blood of Jackson, who said she has had Detroit Lions season tickets for about 27 years.
Blood showed me his “lion den” today, and it has every single Lion memorabilia you can imagine. He has jerseys, signed footballs, helmets and even the back of a chair from the Silverdome.
She said she has been a fan since she was young and watched the games with her dad and grandfather. And today is the day she was waiting for.
6 News asked Melissa Blood how she feels today, with the NFC Championship right around the corner.
“Pure emotion,” Blood said. “I mean, I can’t even begin to describe what this feels like. Because, I mean, we waited so long. There was the year ‘0 and 16’, you know, where everyone wore bags on their heads. And we’re there, the loyal fans were still there, you know? So we deserve it, we want it, we’re ready to win today and get to the Super Bowl and win it too.”
Tonight we’ll take a closer look at Blood’s “Lions Den” and hear about some incredible experiences he had while rooting for his favorite team.
You can watch the Lions take on the 49ers right now on Fox. After that, we’ll air the Super Bowl right here on Channel 6 on February 11.
