Yellen will attend several events promoting three signature pieces of legislation: the Inflation Reduction Act, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, and the CHIPS and Science Act, passed under the Biden administration.
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer will join Yellen for her first stop, an early afternoon debate at the Detroit Economic Club.
Later, Yellen will visit Michigan Central, Ford Motor Co.’s mobility campus in Corktown, anchored by the renovated former Detroit commuter rail station. There, she will tour Newlab, a startup incubator focused on transportation and mobility located inside the former Book Depository building adjacent to the train station.
Following the tour, Yellen will participate in a roundtable discussion with U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow and local entrepreneurs and business leaders.
